What’s Happening This Week – April 24th-28th

I hope everyone had a great weekend and enjoyed the beautiful weather!

In Language, we are still continuing with our social justice projects. In Math, we are working on angles and moving into triangles and 2D geometry. Work on constructing angles with a protractor. If you still do not have one, you should go and purchase one because you cannot share during an assessment.

Friday – Jump Rope for Heart Assembly (fundraising information will be given)

We also have Double Lunch Day coming up, so please help support The Ottawa Mission next Wednesday, May 3rd! See the information document for details. and next week is CATHOLIC EDUCATION WEEK! Students will be busy with many events happening around the school and in the community. We will be going to Mass at St. Isidore on Tuesday. A permission form is being sent home and must be returned by Monday, May 1st.

See the attached Google Doc for more information!

Have a great week!

Easter Weekend – Updates

Hi everyone!

I hope you all have a fantastic long Easter weekend and spend lots of time with your families!

Under the Language Arts tab, there is a page for our Podcasts! Please check them out!

Grade 4 – If you would like to make a pulley or gear system over the weekend to bring in and show us, I would love to see what you can build!

Next week, we will start Angles in math and Passion Projects in Language!

What’s Happening This Week? April 3rd to 7th!

Good morning everyone!

I hope you had a good weekend! I love that the weather is finally starting to warm up!

Over the next couple of weeks, we are going to be using found materials and recycled materials for Science. In grade 4 we are learning about pulleys and gears, and the grade 5s are learning about structures. If you have any of the following items at home, we would greatly appreciate if you could bring them in for us:

  • toilet paper rolls
  • paper towel rolls
  • thread spools
  • string
  • pulleys (from Lego or Kinex sets for example)
  • gears (these might be tricky to find)
  • cardboard
  • cereal boxes

In math, we are still learning about fractions, and I am really impressed with how hard students are working!

In language, we are starting to develop Podcasts about current issues that the students care about. I will post the podcasts on our blog once they are done! Stay tuned for those!

Events happening this week:

Thursday: Learning Commons visit for Makerspace!

Have a great week everyone!
