Wednesday’s field trip was a great success! Everyone had so much fun, and I was very proud of how well the students represented St. Gabriel!
I hope you all enjoyed the long weekend!
We are now heading into our poetry unit.
In math, we will start translations and then move into measurement (area and perimeter…volume for Grade 5).
The students will be starting Theme 3 (“Created Sexual: Male and Female”) in Family Life.
In Theme Three we will:
- explore the idea that we do not have bodies, we are bodies; God created us as body/spirit persons
- consider the major systems of the body, and learn that the reproductive system has unique characteristics
- learn about the adult female and male reproductive systems and about human fertility in adult women and men
- discuss the physical changes of puberty, as well as some of the emotional and social changes
- Please return the permission forms for Family Life.
Next week is the Grade 5’s field trip to Carleton University. Forms are being sent home today and will need to be returned as soon as possible.
Have a great week!

In math, we are continuing 2D shapes, angles, and geometry.

We are so excited to launch our Jump Rope for Heart event which will take place on Friday, May 5th during the last block of the day! Please read below for any pertinent information you may need concerning the day.
First of all, we will begin at approximately 2:15 with all children outside jumping rope and having fun!
Should there be a need for a rain-day we will suspend the Jump activities and give parent and teachers ample notice to have the event under optimal conditions.
Please send pledge forms and money to school with your child by no later than Friday, May 5 in the morning.
FRIDAY ATTIRE. Children should BRING THEIR OWN ROPE. We have a large number of ropes, however, we doubt there will be enough for everyone to jump at the same time. Gym clothes and Athletic shoes are highly encouraged as well as hats and Sunscreen + Water Bottles are important.
